Job: Philosophy Department at Hunter College, the City University of New York, tenure-track, open-rank, .AOS: Ethics. AOC: Applied Ethics
The Philosophy Department at Hunter College, the City University of New York invites applications for a tenure-track, open-rank appointment beginning Fall semester 2023. Salary commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
AOS: Ethics. The successful candidate will have a record of research excellence in ethics, commensurate with their experience level, and will have a promising agenda for future research. AOC: Applied Ethics. The successful candidate will also have evidence of an active research program in some field of practical ethics. A track record of excellent undergraduate teaching is also required. The candidate will be expected to teach three undergraduate courses per semester (six per year), including courses in Bioethics, Technology Ethics, Environmental Ethics, and Ethics and Public Policy. If a candidate is hired pre-tenure, they will begin with six course releases to be used during their first five years. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or must provide convincing evidence that they will complete a Ph.D. prior to the start of Hunter College’s Fall, 2023 semester.
